Acacia Mimosa Pudica is a unique evergreen perennial that is more commonly planted as an annual. It has fluffy leaf that, when touched or shaken, rolls up and then unfurls anew a few moments later. Beautiful, pink, fluffy pom pom like blossoms occur all summer. Children have always shown a strong interest in growing things that are simple to do. Will flourish when grown in a pot as an indoor houseplant. A true unique experience!

Seed Quantity: 50 Seeds

Type: Annual or short-lived Perennial

Genus: Mimosa

Sow Seeds: Sow indoors from January through to December into a medium size pot of seed compost and cover lightly.  Keep moist and keep at around 20℃.  Germination is slow and erratic and can take from 10 days to 6 weeks.  Once germinated water sparingly

Plant Out: Mimosa is a tropical plant. It should not be exposed to temperatures lower than 16 degrees Celsius. Because of this, it is recommended that it be cultivated as a houseplant, in a conservatory or greenhouse, or even though it might be transferred outside during the summer months. Feed with a fertiliser that is heavy in potash; tomato plant food is an excellent choice. Spray the leaves with water and only lightly water the plant on a consistent basis. When the leaves become yellow, this indicates that the soil is excessively damp.

Flowers: July-October

Height & Spread: 60cm high x 25cm spread
